William Morris Fabric 'Seaweed Ink / Woad' is one of Morris & Co.'s most famous patterns, it was designed in 1901 by J. H. Dearle and then as now Seaweed with its floating underwater plants and distinct elements of Art Nouveau, is one of Morris's most popular designs! When the design is now updated to the 2000s, great care has been taken to retain the original feel, texture and colours from old days block printing technique. Morris & Co fabric Seaweed is a durable fabric in 100% sturdy cotton - with Martindale rub test 20 000 - approved for upholstery for domestic use. Seaweed fabric is very suitable for eg, upholstery of furniture, curtains or cushions. Washing instructions dry cleaning.

William Morris began his design career in London in the 1860s. From the start William Morris worked mostly with textiles and he was very fascinated by the medieval textile tapestries. So textiles and fabrics has always been close to William Morris heart! In Morris & Co's design studio in Loughborough goodies from the archives are now discovered and redesigned to get a touch of the 2000s. Several of the new Morris wallpapers were actually first made as fabrics!
