William Morris began designing wallpapers in London in the 1860s. For William Morris nature was always a great source of inspiration and today it is the same and we want natural materials such as wood, paper and wool ... In Morris & Co's design studio in Loughborough the archives are frequently searched for goodies to get a touch of the 2000s. Some new wallpapers where originally Designed as fabrics and has now been restored into modern wallpapers. William Morris did'nt work alone in his design studio, a young very talented designer was John Henry Dearle and it is he who has designed many of the wallpapers that we love the most today.
